Aircraft Crash Injury Reduction
We are focused on reducing injuries from crashes by developing innovative design concepts that fast forward into usable technologies which are implementable in new and legacy vehicles. Our experience allows us to focus on the occupant to machine system and how the two entities operate together. We strive to understand the strengths and weaknesses of both systems and seek innovative solutions to enhance crash safety and survivability.
Powered Seatbelt Retractor
Our prototype Powered Seatbelt Retractor prepares the occupant to survive a crash by holding tightly to the seat just prior to the impact. This allows the seat and vehicle to more efficiently attenuate crash loads. The Powered Seatbelt Retractor can help reduce occupant flail and head strike on secondary vehicle structures.
